Avi Resort & Casino
Two hours south of Las Vegas, Nevada, near the town of Needles, is Avi Resort & Casino. Technically located in the town of Laughlin, Avi Resort is on the extreme southern tip of Nevada on the banks of the Colorado River. Behind the resort are the rolling hills of California, while the river in the foreground is technically part of Arizona. It’s a strange and beautiful place.
Avi Resort is owned by the Fort Mojave tribe, and includes a beautiful and low-set sprawl of some 500 rooms. The physical beauty of the landscape is a big tourist draw to the area, as are watersports in the river, hiking and other adventures in the nearby wilderness preserves, and casinos like Avi. The liberal nature of Nevada gaming laws means Avi offers most of the amenities of a Vegas Strip facility in a natural setting.

Games
All the classic table games are here, from multiple variations of casino-style poker to blackjack, roulette, craps, baccarat, and some proprietary table games to boot. A live poker room hosts weekly and monthly tournaments as well as head-to-head poker games around the clock. Slots and video poker are, of course, a big part of the 120,000 square foot gaming floor, with thousands of machines spread across a few different machine gaming areas.

Restaurants & Bars
Five seasonal restaurants and a food court (as well as a few bars and snack areas spread around the gaming floor) is part of what makes Avi a resort and not just a casino. The options range from fine dining and Italian food to casual snacks and sports bar fare. Some options, especially those in and around the casino, are open 24 hours a day.
