Sac & Fox Casino Shawnee

Sac & Fox Shawnee Casino is one of just a few gambling properties within the city limits of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Shawnee is the smaller half of the Oklahoma City-Shawnee metro area, with downtown OKC about a half hour’s drive from downtown Shawnee. Oklahoma has a long tradition of tribal gaming, and since Shawnee has both a large native population and traditional native land within its borders, it’s a natural draw for tribal gaming interests.

Though Shawnee isn’t much of a tourist town in and of itself, it has a prominent location on Interstate 40, so access is easy for visitors from nearby states without much legal gambling, mostly Texans and people from Arkansas or even Kansas.

Games

Sac & Fox Shawnee Casino is one of the bigger and more modern of Oklahoma’s many tribal properties. Operated by the Absentee-Shawnee tribe, which gives the casino the ability to host just about whatever games they want. Currently, this includes slots, video poker, bingo, table games like craps and blackjack, and head-to-head poker. The casino is open 24 hours a day, but poker games don’t get started until 2 PM. During tournaments, poker can last well into the next morning.

Restaurants & Bars

• Buffet – A traditional buffet serving different food specials each day of the week. Opens for breakfast on Saturdays only at 6 AM. Every other day, the Buffet is only open from 11 AM to 9 PM.
• Bistro Grill – A more formal environment than the buffet, the Bistro Grill is a sort of upscale hamburger joint with available bar service. The Bistro Grill is open 24/7, and shares a daily special menu with the buffet, which is a nice touch.
• Lucky 7’s Bar – A typical sports bar, but with odd hours. Take note, if you want an adult beverage at the Sac & Fox Shawnee – the bar is only open from noon to 7 PM.
