The southeastern European country of Bulgaria offers quite a few different venues for gambling, including casinos with traditional games, as well as slot/electronic roulette halls. Whilst they are available around the country, the majority of these venues reside in the capital city of Sofia with many of them open 24-hours a day.
Gambling was legalised in the country in 1993 with the government starting to finally introduce a tax system for operators in 2013. Online gambling is popular in Bulgaria, however, the government place heavy tax implications on sites and have a monopoly on the digital sports betting industry with the Bulgarian Sports Totalisator.
