West Virginia, or the Mountain State, allows ‘casino resorts’ to have most table games, cards game rooms, slot gaming, and on-site pari-mutuel betting. Racecourses are popular with both live horse and dog racing available. West Virginia also has a state and regional lottery and charitable gaming is legal, as well. Despite its liberal gambling laws, the state, weirdly, does not allow for private or social gambling, forbidding games ‘out of the public eye’.
