South Africa is the southernmost state of Africa, stretching between the Indian Ocean and the South Atlantic. Countries bordering South Africa include: Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Mozambique. The country is inhabited by 54 million people with eleven official languages.
Gambling in South Africa is now very much regulated, granting just 40 licenses for casinos within the country. Prior to this, there were up to 2,000 illegal gaming venues. Online gambling, however, is not yet regulated despite promises from government officials and whilst there are sites that accept South African players, it is not legal for citizens to use them.
