The Prairie State pretty much allows all sorts of gambling from Vegas style casinos, sportsbook, racebook, charitable gaming, and is even one of the few states to allow online betting. Whilst it is still not legal to play games, such as roulette and craps online, the amount of brick and mortar casinos makes up for this. Gambling in Illinois was popularised by mobsters, such as the infamous Al Capone, who made gambling legal in their business models.
