Macau is a region of China about 40 miles east of Hong Kong. Official languges spoken in the country include Cantonese, Chinese, and Portuguese and is populated by just over 650,000 people.
Known as the "Monte Carlo of the Orient", Macau’s gaming revenue overtook the famous Las Vegas strip in 2007. Gambling in Macau has been legal since 1850 and casinos tend to offer the traditional western table games, as well as Chinese games, such as Fan-Tan. Macau also offers greyhound racing, sports betting, and lotteries, but at present, does not license online gaming.
