Jinja, Uganda

Uganda is in East Africa and is landlocked by Kenya, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, and Tanzania. The country is one of the poorest in the world with much of the country rooted in poverty and a problem with overpopulation, having grown from 9.5 million people in 1969 to 34.9 people in 2014.

Gambling is somewhat regulated within the country by the National Lotteries Board, putting restrictions on where gambling sites can be located – e.g. away from churches and local markets. One of the most popular types of betting is sports bets with many locals placing bets at land-based shops, as Internet is not widely accessible.
