Sri Lanka, or the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is an island country in Asia near India. The country is populated by approximately 20 million people with the official languages being Sinhalese and Tamil. The government started regulating gambling in Sri Lanka in 2010 and there are currently 5 casinos, which are all located in the capital city of Colombo.
Despite sharing the same names as casinos along the famous Strip in Las Vegas, these casinos are not at all connected to there famous counterparts. Due to a lack of Internet use in Sri Lanka, land based casinos take precedence and there are no operators based in the country. Citizens may opt to use foreign sites, however, none of these are available in the country's official languages or currency.
