Grosvenor Casino Russell Square London

Russell Square is home to one of London’s largest Grosvenor casinos, bought from Gala group in 2013. The venue contains a casino restaurant and bar and is open 24 hours a day, although the menu is limited between 2.30am and 6pm. Being right on the Piccadilly line, the casino is well placed for international guests who can take the tube from the airport directly to Russell Square tube station, from which the casino is less than two minutes’ walk. Drivers will be pleased to know there’s free covered parking with a valet service although London congestion charges do apply.

Games

The casino is well equipped for electronic gamers with a selection of slot machines, some of which have progressive jackpots up to £10,000. They also run slot tournaments on a regular basis where you buy in for £20 and keep any winnings you make plus an extra bonus from the casino for finishing in the top three places. The other electronic gaming machines that you’ll see dotted around are roulette machines which allow you to place bets on both the live wheels and also an electronic automated wheel.

Table games include roulette, blackjack and three card poker. Unfortunately there’s no tournament schedule and the poker is limited to a single cash table. However the Players Reward Scheme allows you to earn points for playing all games which you can redeem for prizes and discounts.

Restaurants & Bars

The restaurant serves a dynamic mix of French, Arabic, Indian and Chinese cuisine, which is served between 6pm and 2.30am, after which time you can order light meals and snacks from the bar menu. This contains a mixture of fast food, like burgers, hot dogs and fries, sandwiches and delicacies such as Lebanese mezze and even a choice of steaks. Additionally you can get a roast on a Sunday for £10.95 per head, reasonable value in central London.

Entertainment

The bar screens all the live sporting events from Sky Sports channels and you can also hire out the whole venue for special occasions, including hen and stag nights to birthday parties and work dos. A range of packages with different levels of food and play vouchers are available.

Other Facilities

The casino sits in the forecourt of the Imperial Hotel which is an obvious choice if your priority is staying close by but due to the central location you have literally hundreds of accommodation options. Some others within walking distance are Hotel Russell, the Celtic Hotel and President Hotel and the entire range of budgets is well catered to.
