Derby Lane Poker Room

Derby Lane Poker Room is almost exclusively the domain of St. Petersburg, Florida natives. St. Petersburg is the lesser-known of the Florida twin cities that make up Tampa Bay. Within a ten mile radius of the twin cities, some 3 million people make their home. It is for these people, and not the flood of Florida tourists when the temperature warms up, that Derby Lane provides a place for poker games.

St. Petersburg is the sleepy twin brother of Tampa Bay, just a few miles away on the map but essentially the opposite of Tampa Bay in terms of temperament and population. St. Petersburg trends older, whiter, and slightly more affluent. This is the typical population at Derby Lane.

Games

Poker is the only game played at Derby Lane Poker Room – head-to-head games in the most popular variants, from Texas hold’em to Omaha and all the rest. In fact, any variant can be played provided enough players are found to form a full game.

Weekends, Derby Lane is open for 24 hours. During the week, games are available from 9 AM to 3 AM most days, though those hours are subject to change based on interest and, apparently, the whim of the owner.

No Limit hold’em buy-ins range from $40 to $800, with one game embracing the whole “no limit” concept to an extreme degree, with no maximum buy-in.
